DJT: Middle East Naivety

* See UPDATES below...

Either President Trump is very naive about 'fabricated reports' from the Middle East regarding Iran's so-called willingness to make a deal with the US, or he is simply playing games and stalling the inevitable scenario...further military action to finish off the Iranian regime's reign of terror against its citizens and other countries in the Middle East and around the world.

I suspect he will have to make a decision one way or another very soon. People are growing weary of all the shenanigans (BS) on both sides. All talk and no action won't be tolerated by the price-gouged (global) public much longer.

Trump can either set the terms in the Free-World's favour and act on them, or Iran will do it their way.

He has a choice...either make it or surrender it.

Source: ZeroHedge

By the way, Iran needs to 'man up' and negotiate directly (face to face) with US representatives if they're serious about striking a deal with them...not through a third party, from which unreliable reports (lies) emanate.

Failure to do so will never produce a deal...only a prolonged and destructive war.

UPDATE:

Furthermore, a 60-day tentative extension of a ceasefire is NOT a bona fide permanent peace agreement...just more delay and uncertainty on the issue of removing the enriched uranium from Iran and the permanent dismantling of their nuclear program, which remains a major global threat to international security.

Looks like President Trump has lost sight of that issue (one of his major goals) and is surrendering that matter to Iran by allegedly agreeing to watered-down piecemeal arrangements...which may include the early release of some seized Iranian funds in exchange for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

That would be a loss for the US and a win for Iran, because it was already open before the war and billions of dollars were frozen decades before this current conflict under extensive US sanctions targeting Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs. Plus, Iran could then use the monies to buy/build more drones and missiles to replenish their depleted stockpiles...rendering Trump's bombings, to date, all for naught...while still in possession of their enriched nuclear materials.

Both the US and Iran need to 'man up' and negotiate face to face to settle all issues at once, rather than through a third party...and cut the drip, drip BS...people are fed up with it all!

Incidentally, other Western world countries need to 'man up' and offer support to the US to ensure that it is successful in these negotiations, inasmuch as their prior involvement in the now-defunct JCPOA (Iran Nuclear Deal) provided significant mutual reinforcements and assistance to each other in enforcing a unified policy to constrain Iran's nuclear program.

So far, they've taken a hands-off approach to this situation.

Since it was in their interest then, why wouldn't it be now?

UPDATE:

From this latest report, it looks like the only thing that has been accomplished by the ceasefire, so far, has been the ability of Iran to restore and reopen 20 airports that were damaged in this war.

Plus, Iran is still in possession of its enriched nuclear materials and nuclear facilities, and the Strait of Hormuz is still closed.

So, where's the upside to the US in this ceasefire? 🤔

HINT...

A "creative visionary" would find a way to streamline, amalgamate all the moving parts of this conflict (including goals and impediments), and accelerate the process of achieving global economic, financial and military security/stability...in part, by turning the impediments into common goals for all parties.

And, a "creative opportunist" would find a way to capitalize on this process.

UPDATE:

So far, I haven't seen any evidence of either party possessing such creative thinking and negotiating abilities in order to reach and sign a final agreement that contains common goals, as backed up here and here.

Frankly, I don't believe that terrorists have the capacity or desire to seek any common goals with the Western world and the Middle East...as repeatedly demonstrated by Iran's combative rhetoric and actions for the past 46 years under the dictatorship of the Ayatollah and his henchmen.

I predict that the situation will get much worse right through the midterm elections in November, especially as low and middle-income Americans (living paycheque to paycheque) continue to suffer economically and will likely voice their concerns in the way they vote.

Billionaires, such as the President, and long-term investors/market makers may not care how long this drags out, or be worried about the midterm elections, but average Americans do/are.

And, who has the appetite to participate in Trump's 250th July 4th celebrations under these uncertain and unappealing conditions? 👀

UPDATE:

WTF has Trump been smoking!

He's getting more unbelievable by the day with his ridiculous vacillatory, contradictory, hyped-up comments.

His 'so-called' negotiating tactics are not clever...just plain stupid, clueless, overblown, bizarre and irritating.

Plus, his tone towards Iran seems to have softened since his visit with President Xi in China in mid-May...case in point. Coincidence?

It's becoming clearer that a decent deal for the US regarding Iran will not be forthcoming.

PERIOD!

Source: ZeroHedge

UPDATE:

An alleged Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the US and Iran, as described in this article, is not the same as a FINAL deal.

The so-called negotiations of items and terms outlined in an MoU (and, by extension, the conflict) will drag on forever...case in point here and here (39 'deals' announced by DJT, so far 🫤).

Even Europe is forecasting further uncertainty ahead, as the ECB has just raised interest rates by 0.25% due to rising inflation.

Buckle up!

From This Week's "Smile File"...Best Phrase Of The Week 😏

I think Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent nailed it today when he described former President Joe Biden's economic agenda during his one term in office as "orgiastic government spending."

It seems that President Trump's goal is to reprivatize many federal government jobs via an in-depth multi-agency review of waste, fraud and abuse, along with a cost-cutting task, that was handed to the newly-created (temporary) Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

They have until July 4, 2026 to complete their assignment...so, we'll see how this impacts fiscal and monetary policies, as well as the overall health of the economy and national security issues by that deadline.

RUSSIAGATE PART III...THE FINALE: The Durham Report

* See UPDATES below...

Former Trump administration Attorney General Bill Barr appointed a Special Counsel (John Durham) on October 19, 2020 to determine whether the FBI's "Crossfire Hurricane" investigation of, first, Presidential candidate Donald Trump and, then, President Trump was based on a factual legal predicate, or not.

After nearly three years of investigation, John Durham finally submitted his report on Tuesday, May 12, 2023 to Biden AG Merrick Garland who released it to Congress and the public on May 15...and concluded that the FBI's initiation of an investigation was NOT based on a factual legal predicate, but was, instead, based on political opposition dirt produced by Trump's rival Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's campaign, that was comprised entirely of lies and false accusations of Trump campaign collusions with Russia.

Durham further concluded that the FBI was BIASED against Trump, while exhibiting favour toward potential wrongdoings by Hillary Clinton regarding their investigations of the Clinton Foundation, as well as her use of a private server and private email while she was Secretary of State under President Obama.

He pointed out that, then President Obama and Vice-President Biden were made aware by CIA Director John Brennan of Clinton's attempts to smear Trump before her campaign released the infamous 'Steele Dossier' containing the salacious and false accusations.

Durham's findings are troubling and highlight the presence of political bias in both the DOJ and the FBI...as well as their undue negative influence operation on President Trump's tenure...coupled with the Democrats' repetition of those lies and a mainstream media complicity, spreading them as if they were fact, without ever investigating them, except for a few, such as Fox News.

Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation of whether Trump and/or his campaign colluded with Russia leading up to the 2016 Presidential election determined that there was NO collusion in March of 2019. Furthermore, the DOJ Inspector General also found no wrongdoings by Trump or his associates, BUT did find plenty by the FBI. I reported extensively on "Russiagate" in Parts I and II here and here.

This post, Russiagate Part III, marks the end of this particular political hit job against a Presidential candidate, then President of the United States...a Republic that is supposed to be governed by its Constitution and Bill of Rights...which have been violated by a variety of intelligence leaders who sought to influence an election and delegitimize a duly-elected President.

Whether any consequences or accountability are ever delivered to the American public remains to be seen.

Although current FBI Director Christopher Wray claims that reforms have since been implemented in his department to prevent such interference, it's plain to see that someone did not get the memo...take a look at their interference via Twitter in the 2020 Presidential election (The Twitter Files) and their suppression of evidence relating to the Hunter Biden laptop scandal.

Considering the totality of all of these political interferences and false allegations involving Russia, one could argue that any potential U.S. and Russia relationship or alliance against potential threats from China were degraded...instead, the U.S. and NATO have been funding billions of dollars into assisting Ukraine defend itself from an invasion from Russia under Joe Biden's presidency (after defeating President Trump bid for a second term in 2020).

The United States' national security and economy have been destabilized, as a result, fighting high inflation and an economic crisis.

No doubt, Congress will have more to say on these issues in the coming days/weeks following their own investigations.

The following articles provide further insights regarding the Durham report...there are many more, and I will add them in due course.

* UPDATE May 18...

The Washington Post -- trying to "save face" for pushing the Trump-Russia collusion for years -- is continuing with its foolish losing narrative...

* UPDATE May 19...

" Not only did the impossible happen, but they all did it: the Clinton campaign, the FBI, and the media."

ZeroHedge excerpt

* UPDATE June 21...

Special Counsel John Durham confirmed in his testimony today before the House Judiciary Committee that there was NO LEGITIMATE BASIS on which the FBI undertook their investigation of then Presidential candidate Donald Trump regarding purported Russia collusion during the 2016 Presidential campaign.

It was all one big fat hoax based on a series of lies undertaken and funded by the Hillary Clinton Presidential campaign and the DNC!

Where's the accountability of the FBI for their nefarious actions in opening and perpetuating this investigation?

And, where's the restitution to former President Trump for the subsequent fallout, chaos and harm that this caused during his presidency?

SBMS Time Capsule: Nancy Pelosi's Shameful 2020 SOTU Stunt

Remember this shameful stunt performed on February 4, 2020 by, then, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, at the conclusion of, then, President Donald Trump's State of the Union Address?

The country reeled in shock as she tore up President Trump's SOTU speech...and shredded the legacies of the American heroes and heroines who were saluted and praised therein.

A total classless act by a spiteful woman.

No doubt, you will NOT see the same vengeful performance tonight by the current House Speaker, Kevin McCarthy, after President Joe Biden's SOTU speech...he has more dignity and respect for the 'presidency of the United States,' rather than lowering himself to her standard. (P.S. Feb. 8: You didn't see it...it didn't happen. Instead, he stood up and clapped at the end of Biden's speech, in accordance with the usual dignified and polite protocol performed by a House Speaker after this annual speech.)

She should have retired from politics decades ago...and spared herself and millions of Americans a lot of humiliation.

And...then there's this display of blatant hipocrisy...where white is the only colour in her own family.

I see no "diversity, equity or inclusion" here, contrary to her multiple declarations over the years that American companies, schools, government departments and agencies, courts, etc., must hire according to Democrats' DEI edict...😕

Twitter's Suppression Of Free Speech Exposed

* See UPDATES below...

As promised by Twitter's new private owner, Elon Musk, he's making public the massive suppression of free speech actions taken by former Twitter executives and employees on its social media platform in coordination, primarily, with Democrats and Joe Biden's presidential campaign staff

For background, I've written extensively on Joe Biden here, herehere, and here.

The following tweets lay out Twitter's actions taken in the days leading up to the 2020 Presidential election...where information (first reported by Miranda Devine in the New York Post) was suppressed on its platform in connection with Hunter Biden's laptop.

Much more will be released over the coming days...THEY ARE EXPLOSIVE!

MARKETING 101

Many years ago, my Marketing instructor stressed the importance of following the classic marketing rule:

"Lead, Follow, or Get The Hell Out Of The Way!"

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) proved, in his big midterm re-election win last night, that if you follow that rule, you will win...BIG...as a credible leader who achieved great results during his first term.

He's definitely a Republican rising star...one to watch in the years to come...2024 Presidential election candidate? 👀

N.B. Judging by the mixed results in the House and Senate races, I'd say it's time for former President Donald Trump to cease his crass name-calling of fellow Republicans, stop his incessant whining about losing the presidency in 2020, and pass the baton to someone else as Republican party leader.

It's closing time at the political watering hole and his party-time is over. 🕛

Notwithstanding the fact that he lost the Republican House and Senate during his term, along with his 2020 Presidential bid, no doubt, his supporters are grateful for his many contributions during his term in office, listed here and here.

So, he should leave it at that and let the Republican party regroup with fresh ideas and talent...without him at the helm.

Otherwise, he will look like an egotistical fool, should he seek another term using his unseemly bombastic tactics...and will drag the Republicans down in flames, with him. 🔥

* UPDATE Nov. 10...

It looks like the Editorial Board of the WSJ agrees with my assessment of Donald Trump...

* UPDATE Nov. 16...

Donald Trump announced yesterday that he is running for President as a Republican candidate in 2024.

No doubt, he will face other Republican challengers in the preceding primaries, so he may not get that chance, if defeated.

Something tells me that this will divide the GOP and their voters...at a time when it's vital that the party sit back and reflect on what went wrong in the midterms and, then, fix the problems and issues SOON, as well as formulate and pursue actual policies and an agenda, from now until the 2024 Presidential election, one that will appeal to minority groups, women, independents, as well as Republicans.

Senator Lindsey Graham
N.B. By the way, a federal ban on abortion will NOT win votes from women, Senator Lindsey Graham!

* UPDATE Nov. 18...

US House seats won, so far...vote count still underway...5 of 435 seats still undecided...Republicans have the majority (at 218, so far).
