Greedy...volatile...erratic behavior.
Those are some of the words that I consistently used in a variety of my posts from the beginning of President Donald J Trump's second term (January 20, 2025), particularly in relation to his unpredictable and nonsensical actions regarding tariffs on other countries, especially, his unwarranted trade war with Canada (America's largest trading partner), as well as his costly war against Iran.
N.B. By the way, Trump LOST that war on June 11. 2026 when he canceled additional bombings that could have ended it. Instead, he announced that an MOU was forthcoming...a BAD deal that included a 60-day pause on military action, which was brokered by his VP JD Vance with Iran. Predictably, Iran, subsequently, violated that agreement, and the war drags on to this day...unresolved...and now President Trump is reaping the political fallout from that FAILED decision.
I won't bother repeating everything that I said in those posts, but you can read them here, here, here and here.
Those issues simply cannibalized the successful policies that he was able to secure, to date, and drove up costs on everything from food, energy, housing, healthcare, and secondary education, etc.
No doubt, voters were fatigued fed up by all of his shenanigans, after having endured 9% inflation under the previous president, Joe Biden, as they voted to install Democrats as the governing party and kick out the Republican majority in both the U.S. House and Senate on November 3rd.
I would caution Democrats, however, that voters can be very fickle.
So, if they overplay their hand by focusing all of their attention on inflicting punishment against Trump and his administration, rather than producing positive economic results for their electors, they will find themselves unceremoniously thrown out of power in the upcoming 2028 presidential election.
Watch for another possible tactic that they might choose to employ, and that is passing extreme far-left socialist legislation that they know President Trump would automatically veto, so that they can use that as a re-election platform or promises for their voters to support in 2028...in the hope of holding power in the House and Senate, as well as capturing the presidency.
N.B. So, if Republicans fail to, firstly, sit down and listen to their constituents' needs, then, make the case loudly, widely and directly to them against such extreme tactics and contrast it with what they have to offer, starting today, then they have already lost 2028!
If you thought the last two years were a bumpy ride, wait 'till the next two start when the new Congress convenes at noon on January 3, 2027...and keep an eye on inflation!
So, buckle up!
